Christmas Fever in the Peak District
Tick Tock Tick Tock… Time is passing so quickly. Yes, it’s true! Christmas is just around the corner! The most heart warming holiday of the year is just a few weeks away. And aren’t we all in need of a getaway from our daily routines? A getaway which is all about family and friends, valuable gifts, food, and lots of love. The true value of the gifts shared lies in the expression of care, harmony, and appreciation towards the other person. But, sometimes Christmas shopping may become overwhelming and difficult to fit in our busy schedules. So why not visit one place which has everything you need to show the people you care about by presenting them with a gift that suites them perfectly? Visit one of the many incredible Christmas markets that the Peak District has to offer. Here are our top recommendations.
Peak Shopping Village
There is a lot to choose from at the Peak Shopping Village which will have it’s doors opened on the 18th (at 10am) and 19th of November (at 11am). There are many different types of gifts to choose from and we’re positive you’ll be able to find something that perfectly fits your budget and taste. In addition to the shopping, you and your children will be able to enjoy Mr & Mrs Claus and the elves who are going to be there spreading the Christmas vibes while you shop till you drop. Fun!
Chatsworth Christmas Market
Another must go to is the Chatsworth Christmas Market. Why? You are sure to find the right gifts amongst the 100 market stalls, the Orangery shop, and the Stables shop. When can I visit, you ask? The Chatsworth Christmas Market starts on the 17th of November and will last until the 5th of December, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5:30pm, while being opened 10am until 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. A wide range of home and fashion gifts will be there as well. To put the cherry on top, you will be able to take a break from shopping and enjoy gourmet food with a glass of wine or beer while walking your “well behaved” dog.
Hollowford Centre is opening it’s doors already for its 7th year for its one-of-a-kind indoor Christmas Markets. Explore the diverse 40 installed stalls featuring a wide variety of local products ranging from jewellery, decorations, natural skin care products, art work, cards, cheeses and much more. You will also be able to take a break and enjoy the beautiful voices of the Hathersage Choir and Mayfield Ceilidth Band while having some good food and refreshments.
And while you’re at it, why not check out our venues in the Peak District and make it a full Christmas shopping getaway with your friends and family? Make this Christmas one that you and your loved ones can talk about for years to come.
