Peak District National Park
We are proud that our Party Houses are in, or adjacent to, the beautiful Peak District National Park.
The Peak District was the UK’s first National Park. It was set up in 1951 and is looked after by the Peak District National Park Authority. It’s role is to preserve the stunning beauty of the Peak District whilst ensuring that both those who live in the Park and our visitors enjoy what it has to offer.
Specifically the law requires the Authority to carry out two main purposes:-
· To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area
· To promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the park’s special qualities by the public

The Peak District is the second most visited National Park in the world (After Mount Fuji in Japan). Due to its location in the heart of England almost the entire population of the UK live within 4 hours. More than a third of the Park is covered by Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). These areas have special protection because of the important plant and animal species they contain or because of their geological formations. Check out the Peak Experience Guides which contain lots of information on interesting things to see during your visit :-

At Party Houses we try to do our little bit to also conserve and enhance the local area. For example, we do not cut our meadows until after mid July, we maintain the traditional dry stone walls, put up bird boxes, bat boxes and barn owl boxes, and plant native trees and plants. Please visit our Environmental section . We would also be very pleased to advise on getting here using public transport.
We also try to welcome guests of all ages and special needs
