The Peak District is packed full of locations used by TV and Hollywood Film companies alike!

The Duchess (2008)
 

Keria Knightly as The Duchess

Starring Keira Knightly as Georgiana, the Duchess of Devonshire, married to the Duke (Ralph Fiennes) this has many scenes filmed at Kedleston Hall (a stunning National Trust house on the Derby side of Ashbourne) and Chatsworth (her real life home).

The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman star as the sisters, Anne and Mary Boleyn as they both have relationships with King Henry VIII. See the site of the filming at Haddon Hall, North Lees Hall and Dovedale and Cavedale.

Elizabeth (1998)

With stars such as Cate Blanchette, Richard Attenborough and Joseph Fiennes; Haddon Hall also features.

Pride and Prejudice (TV 1995 Film 2005)

In the BBC series the famous shot of Darcy (Colin Firth) walking out of the lake was filmed at Lyme Hall. Also featured were The Roaches, Longnor and Sudbury Hall.

The film of 2005 featured Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Stanage Edge (oh, and the actors Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland, Keira Knightly, Matthew Macfadyen).

Peak Practice (1993 – 2002)

The long running TV series was filmed in many locations across the Peak Distirct, but in particular features, Longnor, Crich and Ashover.

League of Gentlemen (1999 – 2005)

Another TV favourite which subsequently was made into a movie! Visit Hadfield and you can try the butchers and ‘local shop’!

The Wolf Man (2009)

Chatsworth features again in the film released in 2009 but this time as a decayed ruin. But Anthony Hopkins and Benico del Toro also star.

And When Did You Last See Your Father? (2007)

Jim Broadbent and Colin Firth star, as does, Cromford, Stanage Edge, and Kedleston Hall

Jayne Eyre (Film 1996 TV 2006)

The Franco Zeffirelli film of 1996 used Haddon Hall as a location. The more recent BBC TV series also used Haddon Hall, but also shot at Dovedale, Renishaw Hall, Ilam Park, and Kedleston Hall.
