From the South and East
Leave the M1 at junction 23A (c 33 miles). Follow signs to Stoke and Uttoxeter on A50. Continue to the turning off to Ashbourne A515. Take this road until you reach Ashbourne and then follow the signs for A523 to Leek. Continue on this road until you reach Waterhouses village. In the centre of the village (immediately past the village shop on left) turn right onto a very small road over a little bridge. Follow this lane round, climbing out of the village and Hamps Hall can be found after about ˝ mile on the right hand side.

NB if the roads are very icy or snowy or if you do not like narrow country lanes, continue through the village and take the turning to Waterfall on the right just past The George pub (Waterfall Lane), Continue to the top of this road where you will enter the village of Waterfall. Continue on this road by bearing right, do not turn off this road (always keeping to the right at any junctions) for about half a mile. Hamps Hall can be found on the left hand side.

From North and West
Travel to Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Continue through Leek following signs for A523 to Ashbourne. After c 7 miles you enter the village of Waterhouses. Ignore the signposts to Waterfall. In the centre of the village (immediately before the village shop on right) turn left onto a very small road over a little bridge. Follow this lane round, climbing out of the village and Hamps Hall can be found after about ˝ mile on the right hand side.

Public Transport
Unfortunately, no buses directly past Hamps Hall, but the 108 Macclesfield/Ashbourne bus stops in Waterhouses (about half a mile), telephone 0871 2002233. The nearest mainline stations are Stoke on Trent (c 16 miles) Trains from London Euston to Stoke on Trent are c 1 hour 35 minutes, Macclesfield or Derby (c 20 miles)for trains to London and the East and West coast. The nearest airports are Manchester (c 1 hour) or Nottingham/East Midlands (c 1 hour).
