The first option is to stay in at your Party House. Use the games room, watch a DVD, play one of the board games or order in a meal so you don’t have to lift a finger. ![]() Or invite in the girls from My Personal Sanctury for wonderful facials, massages,etc.
Alternatively, go shopping! Visit the Potteries, the antique shops of Leek or generally mooch around one of the pretty Peak towns such as Ashbourne or Buxton. Buxton has many special events most weeknds, such as Antique Fairs, Fine Food Fairs, Book Fairs or Art Fairs. In the Potteries you can undertake Factory Tours and see how the famous names such as Wedgwood are made. Afterwards you can check out the bargins in the Factory shops! The Shopping Village at Trentham Gardens (Trentham, Stoke on Trent, ST4 8AX) have about 60 shops, many selling interesting gifts. They also have the UK's largest indoor and outdoor garden centre there. ![]() Getliffes Yard, Leek - Leek and many of the local towns are full of interesting quirky shops

There are many Heritage options whether a stately home such as Chatsworth, Kedleston Hall, Haddon Hall, Sudbury Museum of Childhood or industrial museums such as Styal or Manchester's Science Museum or visit a gallery or two. Other family attractions such as the Heights of Abraham and Alton Towers also have indoor attractions. Open all year is Peak District Mining Museum in Matlock Bath. Alternatively visit many of the caves that the Peak District is reknowned for (there a re many show caves - these are not the sort that require ropes and nerves of steeel!). For the energetic there are indoor climbing walls, swimming pools, or even caves to explore (these aren't as daunting as they sound; for example is Speedwell Cavern you travel by boat!). Upper Limits is particularly popular on a wet day – call 01298 83857 for indoor archery or climbing for all ages. The Tamworth Snowdome, has real snow all year round, and it's inside (Tel: 08705 000011).
